A 29-year-old Davenport man is in custody after police allege they found images of child pornography on his phone.

Devin Day faces a felony charge of sexual exploitation of a minor – cause to engage in act; and two felony charges of purchase/possession depiction of a minor in a sex act – first offense; along with two aggravated misdemeanor charges of purchase/possess depiction of a minor m a sex act – first offense, court records show.

On Sept. 28, 2023, Davenport Police were called to a home on West Lombard Street, Davenport, for an unresponsive baby. The charges stem from the investigation, according to court records.

Police allege Day “was involved in a CyberTip which the Davenport Police Department received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children,” affidavits say.

“As a result of both investigations, the defendant’s phone was seized for further examination,” affidavits show.

Day, who was arrested on a warrant, is being held on a $50,000 cash-only bond in Scott County Jail. He is set for a preliminary hearing Feb. 20 in Scott County Court.
