The Jamaica Under 20 4x100m relay team overcame a last-leg deficit thanks to anchor Deandre Daley - and he even had time to look at his Bahamian rival before crossing the finish line Sunday.
Daley received the baton from Demario Prince and found himself trailing, only to storm home to win by 0.10 seconds.
Jamaica's winning team crossed the line in 39.68 seconds ahead of The Bahamas (39.78) and Trinidad and Tobago (40.83).
Daley stayed relaxed as he brought home gold for Jamaica, and turned his head to face the Bahamas anchor who had sacrificed his form in a desperate attempt to reclaim the lead.
The Jamaican sprinter made sure he was ahead of his rival before looking back and the last laugh.

โ Foreveryoung๐ฏ๐ฒ๐บ๐ธ (@ForeveryoungFi1) April 10, 2023There was seemingly no animus between the anchors or teams as the race finished at the Thomas A Robinson stadium in The Bahamas.
It is hosting the 50th CARIFTA games -- an annual athletics competition for those aged U17 and U20, founded by the Caribbean Free Trade Association.
Behind the top three were Barbados, Cayman Islands, Guadelupe, British Virgin Islands and Turks & Caicos.
Though, the race is set to be re-run on Tuesday after a successful protest from Barbados.
According to the Jamaica Observer, Barbados officially argued that the race was recalled deep into the first leg.
As a result of not hearing the start gun, the Bahamas were also left in the start block after what they believed to be 'an unstable start.'
Jamaica has said it will not partake in the re-run of the race.
Daley had the last laugh however, turning to the Bahamas anchor before crossing the finish
